THE MILLENNIUM GREEN

INFORMATION:

The Millennium Green is a lozenge of land which was part of our sports ground before it was cut off by a new road. Opposite the main entrance is a small car park. The land is leased by the Parish Council to the Millennium Green Trust, and is maintained by them. They have ambitious plans for a place suitable for people of all ages and abilities. A designated area has been set aside for young children to play, and seats for their carers. There are also seats and picnic benches in quieter corners. The trees provide protection from visual and noise intrusion, and native species are planted to provide shade and encourage the local biodiversity and ecology. There is a sensory garden, with a variety of plants in raised beds which are suitable for wheelchair users. The Parish Council also manage a smaller installation within the Green. It has a tarmac surface, play-wall, football goal and basketball and cricket net. There is also a youth shelter and exercise equipment. The Millennium Green is a carefully designed space for people of all ages and abilities. It is a wonderful space for relaxation and recreation, and has been designed to meet the needs of everyone in mind.

The outdoor gym area is open and free to use. It is aimed at people of all ages and abilities. It can be used to maintain fitness, build strength and improve agility, and is a great way to keep active in the outdoor environment. The equipment provided is purpose built and designed to meet the needs of all users. The equipment is weatherproof and open year round, however it is best to check the weather before use. No booking is required and it is open to all members of the public.
