GLENFIELD SPORTS GROUND

The Glenfield Parish Council is proud to own and maintain the sports ground for the benefit of the members of the local community. This extensive green space allows for freedom and recreation in a serene natural environment, where organized sports such as cricket, football, and petanque may be played. A surfaced area has also been marked out for other forms of recreation. Ever mindful of beautifying their neighbourhood, the Glenfield Parish Council has planted many species of shrubs and trees to provide food in the form of pollen and berries and has constructed bird and bat boxes for the local animals. This, in turn, adds to the lushness of the already picturesque outdoor sanctuary. Villagers are invited to enjoy the nature which the sports ground has to offer and, in particular, explore the Rothley Brook corridor and footpath to Anstey, which is accessible via the sports ground.

All visitors should be mindful to keep their dogs on leashes and be sure to remove any pet waste, as this is a children's play area. For those wanting to take their pets on a leisurely walk, the dog walking area is provided. This is an ideal resource for those wanting to appreciate the wonderful outdoor landscape while basking in the safety and protection of the Glenfield Parish Council.

The sports ground not only serves as a fantastic natural resource, but is a great reminder of the care and consideration the local Council has for their inhabitants, as well as their environment. The sports ground truly is an oasis of relaxation and recreation, with something for everyone to enjoy.
