Ellis Park

INFORMATION

This is the largest green space found in the village, adjoining the playing fields of the primary school, the Churchyard, and allotments to not only create a large space for wildlife, but also for the residents of the village.

Owned by the Parish Council, this two-hectare park comprises a variety of areas. One of them is an enclosed bowls green specifically for the village's bowls players. Another is the all-weather pitches, equipped with lighting, for those who enjoy playing football and many other sports. The park also has an enclosed play area tailored specifically for younger children, with a large selection of playground equipment available for them to play with. There is also an expansive grassed area with many tracks to explore. The park has a high density of trees providing relief from the sun during the summertime, as well as a few scattered trees which can be used for casual sport and games. Hidden away in the southern region of the park is an entrance which leads directly into the back of the park from the newer parts of the village.

This quiet, unseen entrance is a popular route taken for those on their way to the primary school. In a bid to encourage more outdoor activity among the teenagers, two teen shelters and various pieces of outdoor gym equipment have been installed close to the play area. All together, these facilities allow the residents and visitors to have a peaceful and safe space where they can enjoy the fresh air, play games, and interact with the local wildlife. This park is an excellent addition to the village, allowing residents to come together, take pleasure in the surrounding green space, and enjoy its many benefits.
